Consultation has concluded
Background
The Port of Sale Precinct is known as Sale's jewel in the crown and is culturally significant with a rich heritage. The Port of Sale provides popular facilities to locals and visitors and has potential for further development.
Significant work has already occurred on the northern bank of the precinct and opportunities still exist to fully capitalise on these assets through the redevelopment of the former Specialist School and Sale High School site (located on the east bank) and the west bank, including new TAFE facility and other key strategic sites between the Port and Lake Guthridge.
We are committed to making sure that high-quality outcomes are achieved through the further development of opportunities, better use of existing public open spaces and more effective linkages with key surrounding sites.
Please watch a virtual tour of the existing Port of Sale Precinct below or visit the Port of Sale website to find out more about the area.
How to have your say
The consultation period for this project closed on Monday 19 April 2021.
The closing date to Have Your Say is Monday 19 April 2021
What happens next?
The Port of Sale Masterplan Review (September 2021), was formally adopted by Council at its ordinary meeting of 19 October 2021, which signals the completion of the project.
The next steps in the masterplanning of the Port will be the establishment of a 'Precinct Steering Group', which will be supported by a stakeholder reference group the role of which will be to provide an opportunity for community representation for key users of the Port Precinct area.
