FAQs
Why are we expanding the existing skate park?
Through the development of Council's Youth Play Plan, it was identified that the existing Yarram Skate Park did not cater well for less experienced or young riders. With the construction of the pump track and expansion of the skate park, this project will enable a greater number of users with a variety of different experience levels to be physically active.
Will CCTV be included in this project?
Closed circuit television cameras are a tool used by Victoria Police to be able to monitor known hot spots where crime statistics support. While there is instances of minor vandalism, the construction of the pump track does not support the inclusion of CCTV. Should Victoria Police crime statistics change over the coming years, this will be reviewed.
What else is being installed?
There were a number of request for bins, drinking taps and seating through the initial pump track consultation. After consideration, Council has plans to install additional seating while the skate park is under construction.
There is a drinking fountain near the Old Goods Shed. Given the proximity, it was decided not to install an additional drinking fountain.
