National Park Road Safety Treatments for Loch Sport
Welcome to Wellington's community engagement portal for the National Park Road Safety Treatments Project. Here you can have your say and stay up to date with the progress.
Council is planning for the installation of road safety treatments at key locations on National Park Road in Loch Sport.
The primary aim of this project is to provide traffic calming infrastructure at key locations, to slow vehicle traffic and improve adherence to the posted speed limit, and assist with future footpath installations along this route.
We would appreciate your feedback on this proposed project. This feedback will be reviewed to inform the future direction of the project.
Please read more about the project below and provide your feedback by completing the survey:
Council is considering the installation of safety treatments at key intersections on National Park Road, Sanctuary Road and Government Road at the locations identified below:
• Government Road and Warren Street
• Sanctuary Road and Cliff Street
• National Park Road and the Loch Sport Hall entrance
• National Park Road and Goodlett Avenue
• National Park Road and Horder Street
This proposal follows the successful installation of raised safety platforms in Seaspray. We have provided examples throughout this information page of these recent safety treatment works, which were completed at the community’s request. The works have been well received with vehicle speeding incidents lowered along Shoreline Drive. Other sites in Seaspray are being considered in the future for similar treatments.
In 'Project Documents' you can view a concept design for this project as well as a brochure from an independent consultant on raised safety treatments.
