Have Your Say on Creativity, Play, and Active Travel for Young Children

Wellington Shire Council is seeking input from parents and guardians of young children through the Let's Play program. Let's Play aims to help shape future programs and initiatives that will make the most of existing places and spaces focusing on:

  • Creativity – Access to arts, culture, and creative activities for young children.
  • Active Travel – Encouraging walking, cycling, and other active ways to get around.
  • Play – Promoting the importance of play for children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.

We want to hear from you! Your experiences, ideas, and challenges will help guide how we plan for and invest in activities that support young children across the Shire.

What Your Feedback Has Already Helped Create

Previous Let’s Play engagement has already led to several new initiatives, including the Let’s Play Passport, developed directly from community feedback. We’re also excited to be launching the Wild Wonders Nature Book at the Gallery on 5 December, and an active travel project is planned for early next year!

Engaging Young Children

In addition to hearing from parents and guardians, we have been engaging young children directly through selected kindergartens. Their voices and ideas will help shape these projects, ensuring they reflect what children enjoy and need most.
